Beat The Bloat With Sayote

When nutritionist to the stars-slash-professional dancer Nadine Tengco needs to keep her tummy flat for a shoot or show, she relies on the diuretic and anti-inflammatory powers of sayote. “It can relieve gas and reduce bloating and water retention immediately,” she says. “Sayote and kalabasa are the only two veggies I eat on the day of a shoot!”

Anti-Bloat Salad



Ingredients

300 g sayote, pitted and thinly sliced
1/4 cup cilantro or wansoy, chopped
1 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 packet Stevia natural sweetener
salt and pepper to taste

Procedure

In a large bowl, combine cilantro, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper, and Stevia. Mix well. Add sayote and toss to coat well.
